PHYS 217 - Physics - Science and Engineering I An introductory course in physics covering the basic concepts of classical mechanics (motion, force, energy, momentum, rotation, fluids, oscillations). Differential and integral calculus is used throughout the course.

Prerequisites: MATH 221 (minimum grade of C-) or concurrent enrollment
Notes: Phys 217 is required of engineering and physics students and strongly recommended to all science majors.
This course includes an introductory physics laboratory with experiments in mechanics.
