HIST 280 - Survey of US History: 1600-1877 A survey of topics in American history from the founding of the first successful English colony through Reconstruction. The course will explore the European settlement of North America, the Revolution, the creation of the republic, the reforms and cultural renaissance of the 1840’s, the Civil War, Reconstruction and the Indian wars of the 1860’s and 1870’s.
