AE 325 - Mountaineering


Knowledge, skills, and attitudes of basic mountaineering, including snow, ice, and alpine climbing, avalanche awareness, use of technical equipment including crampons, ropes, and ice axes for snow and glacier travel, use of fixed lines, group management on technical terrain, crevasse rescue, and mountaineering instructional strategies.  Includes winter overnight camping.

Prerequisites: AE 121 AND AE 201 OR Instructor Permission
