EGC 322 - Emerging Infectious Diseases This course will focus on infectious diseases that are newly emerging around the world, such as bird flu, Ebola and drug-resistant tuberculosis. Using a case study approach, we will review the basic biology of infectious diseases including how pathogens switch hosts (e.g. from birds to humans) and will examine the political, economic and enviornmental consequences of global disease pandemics.
Prerequisites: Junior Standing and CO2 course
