PSYC 420 - Counseling Skills This course provides insight into how psychologists approach counseling and psychotherapy. It explores a variety of alternatives to the “talking cure” and how each can be flexibly used to promote human change. Students will enter the counselor’s universe and acquire basic skills in counseling and psychotherapy through readings, live practice, counseling labs and an applied final video project.
Prerequisites: PSYC 200 AND PSYC 387 AND CO2 course
Credits: 4 Clock Hours - (Lect-Lab): (4-0) Notes: For advanced students only.
A screening interview with the instructor is required in addition to the prerequisites.
