ANTH 364 - Topics: Indigenous Latin America


The past and present realities of Latin American peoples of indigenous and mixed ancestry are studied with regard to environmental and political self-determination, global indigenous rights, gender relationships, transnational migration, urbanization, representation, ethnogenesis, cultural revitalization, and ongoing legacies of colonialism. Possible topical regions include the Andes, the Amazon, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
