The goal of the Engineering programs is to provide a solid foundation and breadth in mathematics, basic sciences, engineering science, design, communications, humanities, and social sciences. By combining a scientific and technical education with a liberal arts education, students are prepared to evaluate, understand, and formulate responsible solutions to technical problems within the social and cultural context of today’s complex world.
The Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) program prepares broadly-trained and creative engineers who can meet the emerging challenges facing the engineering profession. Students can pursue depth in physics, electronics, and thermal/fluid sciences by selecting a concentration. The program is accredited by Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, http://www.abet.org.
The Computer Engineering prepares students for opportunities designing complex devices with integrated software. The hallmark of the computer engineering program, which bridges the disciplines of engineering and computer science, is the design sequence across the sophomore, junior, and senior years. In these courses, teams of four to eight students prototype devices to solve complex problems.
All courses used to meet Engineering program requirements must be passed with a grade of C- or higher. Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering national exam is a degree completion requirement.
