The interdisciplinary minor in Native American and Indigenous Studies is intended to provide important support for any major a student might select that could lead to a career in or near Indigenous communities or with a Native serving institution. This minor may also be an important basis for graduate studies in addition to any major.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A MINOR IN NATIVE AMERICAN and INDIGENOUS STUDIES:
NOTE: At least 9 credits must be numbered 300 or above. Also, NAIS 335 Topics in Indigenous Studies and appropriate 190/390 courses may be used to fulfill one or more of the distribution areas upon approval by the NAIS coordinator.
No more than one course from a student’s major may count in any minor. A student majoring in any discipline other than Native American and Indigenous Studies may complete a minor in Native American and Indigenous Studies upon satisfactorily completing the following requirements:
Choose at least one Course (Literature, Arts, and Media):
Choose at least one Course (Culture, Language, and Cosmology):
Choose at least one Course (Economics, Politics, and Law):
TOTAL CREDITS REQUIRED FOR NATIVE AMERICAN and INDIGENOUS STUDIES MINOR - CREDITS: 18
