Master of Arts in Education: Teacher Licensure


The Master of Arts in Education: Teacher Licensure is a two-year program that provides the courses and experiences necessary to apply for a Colorado teaching licensure and develop the knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen area of expertise.  


Program Learning Outcomes

1.    Demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach.
2.    Plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning by their students.
3.    Reflect on practice.
4.    Demonstrate leadership.


Degree Requirements
Candidates for the degree must complete the 36-credit curriculum specified for the program, with a minimum of 27 credits earned at Fort Lewis College; earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on all graduate coursework; satisfactorily complete the Capstone Project; and be in good standing with the department’s Graduate Professional Education Review Committee in terms of professionalism and ethical behavior.
