Major Electives:


You may complete the elective course requirements for this major in one of two ways:

1) Complete the General Spanish Electives section shown below.

2) Complete the requirements of an area of Concentration (Latin American Studies). If you complete a concentration, the concentration will be noted on transcript.

General Spanish Electives:


Complete twenty-one (21) credits from the following, at least two (2) courses must be literature courses (SPA 321, 322, 323, 324).

Latin American Studies Concentration:


Complete twenty-one (21) credits from the following, at least one (1) course must be a Spanish (SPA) course.

Note: In addition to the residency requirement for a baccalaureate degree, a minimum of 12 credits of Spanish coursework (including SPA 496 ) must be completed at Fort Lewis College in order to earn a degree in Spanish.

Note: Among the total credits required for graduation, at least 36 credits must be upper division (300- and 400-level) courses.

Note: Students completing the Liberal Arts Core in fewer than 33 credits will have additional free electives.

Note: Students who have met a prerequisite or required course through transfer, examinations, or assessment of prior learning will have additional free electives.
