REQUIREMENTS FOR A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE WITH A MAJOR IN STUDIO ART:

Major Electives:


Complete a minimum of eight (8) courses from the Department of Art and Design. At least six (6) courses must be upper division. h

Upper Division Requirement - Credits: 36


Among the total required courses, at least 36 credits must be upper division (300- and 400-level) courses. This major will require additional courses to meet the upper division requirement.

b A minimum of 15 credits of coursework must be completed in the combined areas of AH/HI/SS.

h For declared Studio Art and Communication Design majors, Foundation Portfolio Review is a prerequisite for many of the upper division Art and Design courses.

Note: Students may double major in Communication Design  and Studio Art, each major must have 27 discrete credits. 

Note: Student may not double major in Art K-12 Education  and Studio Art.

Note: Students may minor in Art History  or Studio Art  , at least twelve (12) credits must be discrete from any other major or minor.

Note: Among the total credits required for graduation, at least 36 credits must be upper division (300- and 400-level) courses.

Note: Students completing the Liberal Arts Core in fewer than 33 credits will have additional free electives.

Note: Students who have met a prerequisite or required course through transfer, examinations, or assessment of prior learning will have additional free electives.
