Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Certificate

This certificate will allow graduate students who want a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Certificate but not a Master’s Degree to have an FLC credential. This certificate prepares students for working with multilingual students in K-12 schools. Students may pursue a Colorado CLD Education endorsement. 

Requirements for the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education Certificate


A student majoring in any discipline may complete a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education certificate upon satisfactory fulfilling the core and elective requirements. 

Note: A grade of C or better is required in all courses required for the certificate.

TOTAL REQUIRED FOR CERTIFICATE - CREDITS: 18


Prior to course registration, students should review all courses for prerequisites, minimum prerequisite grade requirements and minimum class standing.

Note: At least 50% of the coursework toward the certificate must be earned at Fort Lewis College.
