REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FARMER IN TRAINING CERTIFICATE

A student majoring in any discipline may complete a Farmer in Training certificate upon satisfactory fulfilling the core and elective requirements.

Note: A grade of C or better is required in all courses required for the certificate.

Required Courses (7 credits):

ENV 140 - Farming Tools of the Trade Credits: 1
ENV 141 - Introduction to Market Farming Credits: 1
ENV 142 - Seed to Seed: Plant Basics for Farmers Credits: 1
ENV 143 - Growing Specialty Crops at High Elevation Credits: 1
ENV 340 - Practices of Ecological Farming Credits: 3

TOTAL REQUIRED FOR CERTIFICATE - CREDITS: 7

Prior to course registration, students should review all courses for prerequisites, minimum prerequisite grade requirements and minimum class standing.

Note: At least 50% of the coursework toward the certificate must be earned at Fort Lewis College.

Optional Coursework:

The following courses are encouraged but are not required.
