II. APPLICATIONS

Practicum or Internship:

Students may sign up for an internship or practicum in any field, as long as the project undertaken is gender or women’s studies related. Be sure to check prerequisites for all courses. (Students must receive approval from the Gender Women’s Studies Coordinator before signing up for internship or practicum credit). Students may sign up for a minimum of 3 credit hours and a maximum of 6 credit hours in one of the following:

ANTH 316 - Internship in Anthropology Credits: 1-6 (need 3-6 credits)
(30 contact hours of work for each credit hour earned)
BIO 480 - Internship in Biology Credits: 1-3 (need 3 credits)
(requires at least 125 hours of directed experience; credit cannot be applied toward the biology major)
BA 437 - Internship in Business Credits: 3
(150 contact hours minimum)
ED 488 - Seminar & Practicum in College Teaching Credits: 2-3
(need 3 credits)
ENGL 258 - Practicum - Service Learning Credits: 1-6 (need 3-6 credits)
(30 contact hours of work for each credit hour earned)
ENGL 358 - Practicum - Service Learning Credits: 1-6 (need 3-6 credits)
(30 contact hours of work for each credit hour earned)
ES 450 - Internship Exercise Specialist Credits: 3
SOC 320 - Community Service Practicum Credits: 1-16 (need 4 credits)
(Practicum may be taken for 4 credits to fulfill a GWS major requirement when the project is approved in advance by the GWS Coordinator.)
