REQUIREMENTS FOR A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE WITH A MAJOR IN SPANISH:

Liberal Arts Core - Credits: 39

To earn a major in Spanish, a student is required to complete the equivalent of 40 credits of course work in the language. 100-level courses do not count toward the major.

Specific Departmental Requirements:

ML 215 - Intermediate Spanish I Credits: 4
ML 216 - Intermediate Spanish II Credits: 4
ML 319 - Advanced Spanish Conversation & Composition I Credits: 4
* ML 320 - Advanced Spanish Composition Credits: 4
ML 336 - Survey of Spanish Literature Credits: 4
ML 337 - Survey Spanish American Literature Credits: 4
ML 345 - Hispanic Cultures & Civilizations Credits: 4
ML 346 - Hispanic Cultures: Topics Credits: 4

One of the following courses:

* ML 431 - Senior Seminar in Chicano Literature Credits: 4
* ML 496 - Senior Seminar in Spanish Credits: 4

Subtotal Specific Departmental Requirements - Credits: 36

* ML 320 and ML 431 or ML 496 must be taken at Fort Lewis College. No exceptions.

Spanish Electives:

4 credits to be taken from 300- or 400-level Spanish courses - Credits: 4
