CHEM 356 - Physical Chemistry I: Quantum Mechanics Fundamentals of quantum mechanics, electronic structure of atoms and molecules, molecular symmetry, molecular and reaction dynamics and the interaction of matter with light. The laboratory will include design of experiments to measure physical properties and the analysis of data. These general techniques are applied in studies of kinetics, spectroscopy, and molecular structure.

Prerequisites: CHEM 151 (minimum grade of C-) AND MATH 222 (minimum grade of C-) AND PHYS 201 (minimum grade of C-) OR PHYS 217 (minimum grade of C-)
