MU 320 - Mallet Ensemble


Keyboard Mallet Ensemble is a class in which repertoire, specifically written for mallet ensemble, will be rehearsed, learned, and performed. Transcriptions from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary, and Jazz periods will be assimilated with particular attention devoted to music of the ragtime era, post-World War I through the 1940s.

Prerequisites: MU 105  or MU 110  

Minimum Class Standing: Sophomore

Repeatable: This course is repeatable for a maximum of 12 credits.

Notes:
We will also perform music from Africa, Mexico, and Guatemala where the marimba is the national instrument.

Enrollment in band or choir required.
