REQUIREMENTS FOR A MINOR IN ADVENTURE EDUCATION:

No more than one course from the major department will count toward any minor. A student majoring in any discipline other than Adventure Education may complete a minor in Adventure Education upon satisfactorily completing the following requirements:

I. Complete the following:

AE 101 - Foundations of Adventure Education Credits: 3
AE 310 - Philosophy and Theory of Adventure Education Credits: 3 ^a

II. Complete Option A or B:

OPTION A
AE 201 - Wilderness Expedition Credits: 3 ^a
AE 210 - Adventure Leadership Credits: 3 ^a
AE 220 - Teaching Methods for Adventure Education Credits: 3 ^a
Plus six credits in Category III
OPTION B
AE 251 - Challenge Course Programming Credits: 3 ^a
AE 350 - Adventure Processing Facilitation Credits: 3 ^a
Plus nine credits in Category III

III. Category Three - List of Courses:

AE 121 - Top Rope Rock Climbing Credits: 3
AE 131 - Paddling Fundamentals Credits: 3
AE 141 - Telemark Skiing Credits: 3
AE 230 - Wilderness First Responder Credits: 3
AE 241 - Winter Expedition Skills Credits: 3 ^f
AE 321 - Lead Rock Climbing Credits: 3 ^a,f
AE 325 - Mountaineering Credits: 3 ^a,f
AE 331 - Whitewater Paddling Credits: 3 ^a,f
AE 360 - Special Topics Adventure Education: Skills Credits: 3 ^a,f
AE 361 - Special Topics Adventure Education: Profession Credits: 3
AE 380 - Adventure Education Practicum Credits: 1-6 ^a,f - only 3 credits of AE 380 can apply to the minor.
