REQUIREMENTS FOR A MINOR IN SOCIOCULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY:

No more than one course from the major department will count toward any minor. A student majoring in any discipline other than Anthropology may complete a minor in Sociocultural Anthropology upon satisfactorily completing the following requirements:

Sociocultural Core Requirements:

ANTH 210 - Introduction to Sociocultural Anthropology Credits: 4 ^g

Choose one of the following courses:

ANTH 201 - Introduction to Archaeology Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 236 - Introduction to Biological Anthropology Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 246 - Human Biological Variation Credits: 3 ^g

Sociocultural Electives:

Complete two additional courses in sociocultural anthropology, one of which must be numbered 300 or above. Choose from the following, or from an approved 190/390 course:

ANTH 208 - Traditional Ecological Knowledge and Cultural Survival Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 210 - Introduction to Sociocultural Anthropology Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 215 - Magic and Religion Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 305 - Ethnobotany of the Southwest Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 355 - Anthropology of Gender Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 358 - Native American Gender Issues Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 364 - Topics: Indigenous Latin America Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 365 - Language and Culture Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 388 - Ethnology of the Southwest Credits: 4 ^g
ANTH 389 - Ethnographic Field Experience Credits: 3-6 ^g
