REQUIREMENTS FOR A MINOR IN NATIVE AMERICAN AND INDIGENOUS STUDIES:

A student majoring in any discipline other than Native American and Indigenous Studies may complete a minor in Native American and Indigenous Studies upon satisfactorily fulfilling the core and elective requirements. At least twelve (12) credits must be discrete from any other major or minor.

Core Course:

NAIS 110 - Introduction to Native American and Indigenous Studies Credits: 3

Complete one (1) course from the following:

NAIS 123 - Native American History Credits: 3
NAIS 280 - Contemporary Issues of Native Nations Credits: 3

Minor Electives:

Complete four (4) additional courses from the following list. Three of the four courses must be numbered 300 or above.

ANTH 358 - Native American Gender Issues Credits: 3
ENGL 176 - Native American Literature Credits: 3
ENGL 380 - Native American Literature: Topics Credits: 3
NAIS 302 - History of Native American Education and Current Trends Credits: 3
