REQUIREMENTS FOR A MINOR IN HERITAGE PRESERVATION:

A student majoring in any discipline other than History may complete a minor in Heritage Preservation upon satisfactorily fulfilling the core and elective requirements. At least twelve (12) credits must be discrete from any other major or minor.

Core Courses:

Complete two (2) courses from the following:
HIST 241 - Public History: Scope and Methods Credits: 3
HIST 255 - Introduction to Heritage Preservation Credits: 3
HIST 256 - Introduction to Museums Credits: 3

Public History Courses:

Complete two (2) courses from the following:

ANTH 375 - Museum and Heritage Studies Credits: 3
HIST 323 - U.S. National Parks Credits: 3
HIST 345 - Archival Theory and Practice Credits: 3
HIST 376 - Oral History: Theory and Practice Credits: 3
HIST 491 - Colloquium in Public History Credits: 3
HIST 493 - Internship in History Credits: 1-9 - minimum three (3) credits

Minor Electives:

Complete two (2) courses in History. At least one (1) of the two (2) courses must be upper division.

TOTAL REQUIRED FOR MINOR- CREDITS: 18
