Pre-Nursing Certificate

REQUIREMENTS FOR A PRE-NURSING CERTIFICATE
A student majoring in any discipline may complete a certificate in Pre-Nursing upon satisfactory fulfilling the core and elective requirements.
Note: A grade of C or better is required in all courses required for the certificate.
College Algebra Course:
Select one (1) of the following:
Creative Arts Course:
*Note: ENGL 176 Native American Literature is preferred class, if not available select class from the following list.
English Composition Course:
*Note: COMP 254 is the preferred class, if not available select class from the following list.
General Science Course:
Select one (1) of the following:
Note: BIO 140 is the preferred course.
Language, History, Philosophy, and Political Science Course #1:
*Note: PHIL 250 Medical Ethics is preferred class, if not available select one (1) class from the following list.
Language, History, Philosophy, and Political Science Course #2:
BL 201: Spanish for the Professions –OR any History in Liberal Arts Core (With the exception of NAIS 123 this course is used in earlier in the course selection)
Multicultural Studies Course:
*Note: NAIS 123 Native American History is preferred class, if not available select one (1) class from the following list.
TOTAL REQUIRED FOR CERTIFICATE - CREDITS: 60
Prior to course registration, students should review all courses for prerequisites, minimum prerequisite grade requirements and minimum class standing.
Note: At least 50% of the coursework toward the certificate must be earned at Fort Lewis College.
Note: For enrollment into the CU Anschutz Nursing Program, a maximum of six (6) credit hours may be earned outside Fort Lewis College
