CHEM 464 - Inorganic Chemistry II


Advanced inorganic and bioinorganic topics are covered with a focus on metal-containing coordination complexes including their roles in biological processes.  Special topics involving coordination geometries, oxidation states, spectroscopic measurements, organometallics and metalloenzymes, and pharmaceutical applications are reinforced using current literature.  The laboratory component includes advanced synthetic and spectroscopic techniques such as metal coordination, mechanistic measurements, and solid-state and air-free syntheses.

Credits: 4

Prerequisites: CHEM 363
