PHIL 250 - Medical Ethics [LAC-AH]


Students will gain tools for critically examining ethical issues in the medical field.  Students will become familiar with the central ideas, arguments, and criticisms of a variety of ethical theories, including utilitarianism, deontological theory, and virtue theory.  Students will also explore ethical dilemmas in medicine such as end-of-life decisions, beginning-of-life decisions, biotechnology, pandemic policies, and national healthcare policy.
