ECON 437 - Internship in Economics


Directed experience working in a business organization performing professional duties and responsibilities related to the economics profession. Specific requirements will include the keeping of a detailed journal and completion of a term paper. The student’s performance will be evaluated by his/her supervisor in the business organization and the assigned college faculty member.

Credits: 3

Hours: 50 hours are the equivalent of one credit hour. 

Minimum Class Standing: Junior

Program Restriction: Students can only earn 6 internship credits regardless of prefix.

Repeatable: Thhis course is repeatable for a mximum of six (6) credits.

Notes:
Students must have earned 80 credit hours, be in good academic standing, and are required to complete a minimum of 150 contact hours for each internship experience.

A major GPA of not less than 3.0 and a FLC cumulative GPA of not less than 2.5. If GPA requirements are not met, special permission must be granted by the Dean’s office.
