GEOL 206 - Intersections between Earth’s Tectonics and Humanity [LAC-SC2]


This course explores how plate tectonics has shaped life on Earth, from creating a habitable environment on the early Earth to the effects of plate tectonic hazards and processes on human civilizations from ancient to modern times. Students will learn about geologic processes that occur along plate tectonic boundaries and will investigate case studies to determine the impact on humanity.
