AE 441 - Professional Avalanche Level One This course addresses snow and avalanche skills including identifying and characterizing avalanche terrain; understanding avalanche form and release; collecting and analyzing weather, snow, and avalanche data; communicating hazard and risk factors; and conducting daily operational forecast meetings. Successful completion of exams will result in PRO 1 avalanche certificate from the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE).

Prerequisites: GEOG 235 (minimum grade of C) and AE 343 (minimum grade of C) and GEOL 470 (minimum grade of C)
Minimum Class Standing: Junior
