REQUIREMENTS FOR A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE WITH A MAJOR IN GENDER & WOMEN’S STUDIES:
Specific Departmental Requirements:

Practicum or Internship:
Students may sign up for an internship or practicum experiences in any field, as long as the project undertaken is related to gender, sexuality, and/or women’s studies. The total credits that count toward the GWS major must be a minimum of 3 credits and no more than six credits. Be sure to check prerequisites for all courses. Students MUST receive approval from the Gender & Women’s Studies Director before signing up for internship or practicum credit.

III. DISCIPLINARY EXPLORATIONS
Choose FOUR from the list below. Three of the four must be from different disciplines. Two of the four must be numbered 300 or above.
*** Topics courses may count when the specific topic offered in a particular term is approved by the GWS Coordinator. The topic must be centrally related to gender, sexuality, feminist analysis, and/or women’s studies, e.g., ENGL 380 Native American Literature:Topics Contemporary Female Writers.
*If a course is used to fulfill the Core requirements it may not be taken to fulfill Disciplinary Explorations. Gender and Women’s Studies

Note: Any 190/390 course may be applied to the electives choices if approved by the Coordinator of the Gender & Women’s Studies Program. Total Major Requirements - Credits: 35-42
