Anthropology Major


REQUIREMENTS FOR A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE WITH A MAJOR IN ANTHROPOLOGY:

Additional Anthropology Coursework:


Students must take a total of five additional courses, one from each of the three Anthropology Explorations categories, and two from the Anthropology Electives. Three of the total five courses must be numbered 300 or above, and each course must be at least 3 credits.

Each student must take one course from each of the following three categories:

  • Students must take any two ANTHROPOLOGY-prefixed courses not already taken in fulfillment of the above requirements. These courses must be at least 3 credit hours each.

TOTAL REQUIRED FOR GRADUATION - CREDITS: 120


a Check course description for minimum grade in prerequisite course(s) required to enroll in this course.

b A minimum of 15 credits of coursework must be completed in the combined areas of AH/HI/SS.

Note: Among the total credits required for graduation, at least 36 credits must be upper division (300- and 400-level) courses.

Note: Students completing the Liberal Arts Core in fewer than 39 credits will have additional free electives.

Note: Students who have met a prerequisite or required course through transfer, examinations, or assessment of prior learning will have additional free electives.
