REQUIREMENTS FOR A BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE WITH A MAJOR IN PSYCHOLOGY:
Specific Departmental Requirements:
1. Core Program - all courses required
Subtotal Core - Credits: 18
2. Practice Course - complete one upper division course from this list, 4 credit minimum
Note: Psyc 157, 200 and any CO2 are prerequisites for all courses in this category. Specific courses may have other prerequisites or require instructor permission. Subtotal Practice - Credits: 4
3. Science Course - complete one upper division course from this list, 4 credit minimum
Note: Psyc 301 is a prerequisite for all courses in this category. Specific courses may have other prerequisites. Subtotal Science - Credits: 4
4. Psychology Electives - Credits: 18
The student must complete additional psychology coursework for a minimum of 18 credits of which at least 12 credits must be upper division. Courses may be chosen from any offered by the department or accepted as transfer psychology courses. No more than 4 credits of Independent Study (Psyc 299/Psyc 499) will be accepted. No more than 6 credits of off campus coursework or Innovative Month will be accepted. Students are urged to work closely with their advisors to choose the most appropriate array of courses for their interests and plans. Total Departmental Requirements - Credits: 44
