Students must complete 30 credits by the end of the first year to be classified as a Sophomore, 60 credits by the end of the second year to be classified as a Junior, and 90 credits by the end of the third year to be classified as a Senior. This may require completion of additional free electives in particular years to supplement the suggested course sequence.

*Note: This map is a suggested course sequence. Please consult your academic advisor for alternate sequencing. If students take a second SC1 course (with a lab; 4 credits), then this map fills out 120 credits. If they take an SC 2 course, then they will need to take one additional course of at least 1 credit to reach 120 credits.

**Note: The assumption is a student has COMP 150* placement in Composition and MATH 105* placement in Mathematics. Students with different placements must work with advisors to adjust the map.

***Note: Students must at minimum take two lower-division courses that are in sequence. Because the only acceptable courses in sequence are HI-1 courses this will also satisfy the HI-1 requirement and the second needed course in the additional AH/SS/HI requirement.

****Note: Of the Major electives (lower- or upper-division), at least one must be from each of the three regions (Europe, U.S., World) and one must be from each temporal division (pre-1800 and post-1800).

*****Note: Students must take at minimum one 400-level Readings course (this excludes 493 and 496 as options for this requirement as they are not Readings courses).

******Note: Or some combination of free electives totaling 4 credits - ensure your total credit hours reaches 120 by the time you want to apply for graduation.
