HIST 332 - Women in American History


An analysis of women’s experience from the colonial period to the present. Focusing on the way gender has been defined and redefined, the course considers such issues as work, friendship and marriage, reproduction, the struggles for equality and women’s culture. The influence of class, race and ethnicity on women’s experiences will also be considered. This course is the same as WS 332; credit will be given for only one of these courses.
