MU 320 - Mallet Ensemble

Keyboard Mallet Ensemble is a class in which repertoire, specifically written for mallet ensemble, will be rehearsed, learned, and performed. Transcriptions from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary, and Jazz periods will be assimilated with particular attention devoted to music of the ragtime era, post World War I through the 1940s. We will also perform music from Africa, Mexico, and Guatemala where the marimba is the national instrument. Consent of instructor and enrollment in band or choir required.
