MU 323 - Advanced Jazz Improvisation

The advanced jazz improvisation course will focus on scale and chord studies and how they relate to a number of jazz standards. The class will listen and transcribe solos of famous artists to develop the language and facility, while increasing the student’s understanding of jazz and its history. Knowledge of major, minor, and dominant scales is required.
