MU 336 - Jazz History

An in depth look at jazz history from its early roots in brass band, blues, classical and Dixieland to modern styles. Explores major jazz trends, and contributors to each style. Extensive listening and analysis will be required to develop an understanding of improvisation techniques and harmonic trends.
